DJ Space Raven

  • THE hardtrance producer of the moment and i think no one can compete with him. I mean, he's just the only one in Hardtrance who remixes the hugest names world wide...unique style!

Btw, i just heard a clip from his remix for Ayu in his player and once again, it seems to be FANTASTIC :verdutzt::verdutzt::verdutzt:

  • maybe not melodic but it is still hard trance... i think Space Raven have a very commercial style..

Sure as hell as equal as Rob Mayth / Cascada / Megara...^^
We could spend a big time about this subject anyway and i think it would be useless...:)

The word "commercial" is very boring imo. Does it mean that as long as a producer gets his tracks on compilations, he becomes COMMERCIAL? So i bet Tiesto, PvD, Armin etc etc are EXTREMLY commercial since they SELL like hell. :undecided:

    Back 2 topic mate :geek:

  • I think "DJ Scot Project" and "Yoji Biomehanika" does nowdays only boring Tech-Trance.
That "Tocs 2" from Scot, is 2 years old, since it was on a Techno Club compilation two years ago, but wasn't released until some months ago. I think DJ Space Raven is the best Hardtrance producer out there now, and that his style is much, much better than tracks from Phil York, Technical and other UK "Hardtrance" artists :)

That's right...I don't like DJ Scot Project" and "Yoji Biomehanika" :schuettel:

Dj Space Raven is the best for me too...:boogy:

Am Besten gefallen mir "Sandra's Song", "A Time For Romance", sowie seine Remixe von "DuMonde - Gun" und "Soulcry - A life so changed" :boogy:

  • Technicors Magazine Interview

Hi friends. I gladly answered a few questions for a brand new magazine that comes out on May 4th in Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Here is a sample of it (7 questions on 18 asked), check it out :

T.M. : Hi Nicolas, thank you for taking a bit of your precious time to answer our questions. First of all, can you tell us a bit more about you (where do you come from, where is studio located, etc) :

N.P. : Hi guys, you're welcome! I'm Nicolas Perrottey, i'm 23 and i live in France (North). I'm the producer of several Trance/Hardtrance projects such as Space Raven, Nolita, S.H.O.K.K. (...). My studio is simply located in my apartment, ahah. I don't own a big professional studio but a cool "home-studio" which includes everything to make my productions in good conditions.

T.M. : Talking about your studio, do you use any hardware? We all know that most of producers mostly use the typical vst plugins such as Nexus, Vanguard and many more nowadays, do you use them as well?

N.P. : Yes, i do use hardware synths such as Virus C, TI, JP-8000 (...), but it would be a lie to say that i don't use any plugins. I think it must be 50/50, to be honnest. But i seldom use presets (almost never). The most used plugin in my productions is with no doubt V-Station, which i find really outstanding (programming it is always a cool experience)!

T.M. : Can you tell us more about your current projects?

N.P. : For sure. My biggest project (at the moment) is my very first album, for which i spend a lot of time. Also, it got confirmed lately that this album will be released as a double CD format, which makes me soooo glad :-D It's such a great thing to transcribe my feelings, my experiences (...) on a kind of hard drive, i think it's the most amazing part of doing music, if you ask me.
Then, i have many other projects like Nolita, S.H.O.K.K. (...) which keep me busy 7d/7, 16h/24. Many remixes got produced recently and should come out within the next weeks/months (i'm a bit tired to say "soon" since sometimes, "soon" means one year, so i'm now more careful with words to use).

T.M. : Is there any artist(s) that you'd like to work with in the future?

N.P. : Hmmm...it's a good question. I'd actually love working with/for many artists, but none of them would be someone currently involved on the dance/trance music business. All my dreams came true, if you're talking me about Trance artists. I mean, i've always been a huge fan of Wavetraxx, Sakin & Friends, DJ Shog, DuMonde (...) and since i'm a kind of lucky guy, i had the chance (perhaps i should say the word "HONOR") to work with/for them in the past. Then i'm not the kind of guy who makes music for glory, so remixing names like Armin or Tiesto is definitely NOT my objective!

If i should name some people i'd love to work with/for, so here is a list : Dr.Luke, Max Martin, Kara DioGuardi, Trespassers William, John Shanks, Mark "Spike" Stent...

T.M. : Is there any record that you could recommend to our readers?

N.P. : Unfortunately, i'm not following the current scene at all, so i'm not your man to reply this question, ahahah. I listen to a lot of music, but lately, i haven't shown so much interest for EDM styles.

T.M. : Many people keep saying that Trance and Hardtrance styles were better in 2000/2001, than nowadays. What’s your opinion about that ? If you agree, do you think both these styles have a chance to come back within the next couple of years?

N.P. : You know, a famous poet that i LOVE wrote : "All are architects of fate. So look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again". I trust this sentence a lot. But both Trance and Hardtrance styles are more known and respected than many people think. The number of e-mails and kind messages i get means everything! I couldn't thank enough for that.

T.M. : How did you come up with the "Nolita" project ?

N.P. : I’ve worked a few times on several Sven Greiner’s projects and it turned out that both Sven and I wanted to make a common project.
We first did "Coldest heaven" and now the second opus called "Lonesome Road" is gonna be released on April 10th. The third single is currently under production too.
