Foreign Beggars are a critically acclaimed Rap, Grime and Dubstep
group based in London, UK. The group consists of MCs Orifice Vulgatron
and Metropolis, producer Dag Nabbit and DJ Nonames. Foreign Beggars are
renowned for their eclectic and energetic live shows. Currently
performing well over a hundred shows a year the group have performed
with a number of high profile artists spanning a range of musical
genres. Foreign Beggars release their records through Dented Records; a label that is owned by the group and was created to support their own material and a host of UK underground artists.
Today the group line up on stage as Orifice Vulgatron, Metropolis
and DJ Nonames often with UK Beatbox Champion MC Zani or THePETEBOX.
Guest appearances from long time collaborators of the group and Dented
recording artists Kyza and Dr Syntax have also become a regular
occurrence. Averaging well over 100 shows per year, ‘Foreign Beggars’
are one of the most prolific and versatile outfits to emerge from the
UK.
2009/2010 has seen a marked change in the group’s status emerging
from the UK underground, onto the international music scene. Following
the release of United Colours of Beggattron the band were invited to
join The Prodigy’s UK Tour leading to a host of European Festival
appearances in the summer of 2010 including a main stage performance at
Exit festival, Glastonbury, Splash Festival, Dour Festival, Giles
Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in Sete, France and a legendary
performance at Hip Hop Kemp in the Czech Republic.
Foreign Beggars have toured extensively for the past seven years,
including most of mainland Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada,
China, Dubai and even on Karlsoye Island in the Arctic Circle! They
have supported artists such as The Prodigy, Snoop Dogg, Amy Winehouse,
Public Enemy, Ian Brown and De La Soul.
Foreign Beggars are currently working on studio projects with Alix
Perez for a forthcoming album project on ‘Shogun Audio’, developing
collaborations with a number of high profile dubstep artists for
releases on independent UK label, ‘Never Say Die Records’ as well as
recording more music with Dutch drum and bass legends, Noisia.
